This is basic instruction on the use and maintenance of the slit lamp and the keratometer for contact fitting. Done through a pictorial step-by-step demonstration on the use of this equipment. Also included is the recommended maintenance schedule for some ophthalmic equipment.

This course offers something for everyone involved in the eyecare profession. Information on individual time management, payroll control, advertising, inventory control, lab costs, and managed care will be presented. A demonstration and review of optical management software programs available and a comparison of some of the programs offered will be included.

Diabetes affects millions of people annually and has the most impact on your patient’s vision. Simple periods of blurred vision to severe retinitis pigmentosia
are covered in depth. Recommendations on how to discuss these conditions with your patients will be given. Interpreting glucose readings and information on the function of the most common diabetic drug treatments will also be presented.

A customized sales presentation giving features and benefits of anti-reflective treated lenses, polycarbonate lenses, transitions, and progressives. Selling suggestions to increase personal productivity for multiple pairs and package pricing will be demonstrated trough audition participation by role-playing. Results-oriented techniques will be given to increase sales of sunglasses, including information on polarized lenses.
