Jean Davidson splits her time between writing short stories, finishing her first novel and writing and presenting courses for continuing education credits to opticians around the country. She is both ABO and NCLE certified and a member of several opticians associations.
Jean’s published magazine articles include “Sunglare Protection” in Dynamic Years and "What is your Eye-Q?" in Star Magazine.
This story is about a dutiful daughter trying to carry out her mother’s last wishes.
It begins “When I die … Take my ashes on that casino boat to Nova Scotia, put the urn on top of a slot machine, pull that handle and I’ll bring you luck.”
Because she did not follow her mother’s specific request she suffers consequences ranging from expensive emergency room treatment, costly car repairs and double hotel bills until she finally offers a silent, pleading apology to her deceased mother.
